With school starting back up, itโ€™s a great time to re-evaluate your setup and tools. Here are some of our favorite apps and devices to power through those long days of class and long nights of homework.

Iโ€™m Dave Seah, probably best known as a designer of paper-based productivity tools such as The Emergent Task Planner. I also develop interactive software for installation-based learning applications.

I have a Motorola RAZR-3 flip phone. I have avoided getting an iPhone because I donโ€™t want to be connected to the Internet all the time. As a bonus, my phone bill is about $6/month.

Quick Tip: Rename your photos based on EXIF metadata »

Iโ€™m quite particular about how I manage my photos. In fact, I donโ€™t even use iCloud Photos because of my methods. One of the things I am very particular with is file names. I like file names like 2015-06-02_10-23-44.jpg. A lot of cameras use a format like DSC30948.jpg or IMG_4490.jpg when you import them. Thankfully, there is a great program for the Mac called ExifRenamer that can automatically rename photos based on their EXIF data.

A year of Relay FM

Myke Hurley and Stephen Hackett, the gentlemen behind Relay Fm, reached the one year mark since they launched their podcast network. The network has grown from six shows to 14 in the past year, which is a fantastic success. Romain Dillet, with TechCrunch, wrote an in-depth article about the success Relay have achieved. It’s a great read and we couldn’t be happier with our friends. Congrats, guys!
