Beating Procrastination with Time Budgeting (TSS WEBINAR)
Have you ever had that feeling where you are completely stressed out because you have so much to do, but you don’t even know where to begin? You feel anxiety about falling behind, but you lack clarity on what the best thing to do right now really is?
I certainly have. And I absolutely hate feeling that way.
One of the best ways I’ve found to overcome that feeling is a practice I like to call time budgeting. If you have a budget for your finances, you already know how this works. It’s the exact same principle, only applied to your time instead of your money.
When it comes to time budgeting, there are two things you need to pay attention to:
- How you plan to spend it (what actually ends up on your schedule)
- How you actually spend it
In other words, you can’t just have a plan โ you need a way to measure how well you stuck to it.
The first part is pretty easy (especially if you currently have a time blocking habit). But the second part can be a bit trickier.
This is where time tracking comes in.
A lot of people (myself included) initially resist time tracking because it feels like just one more thing you have to do. But I’ve found that time tracking is absolutely essential if you want to make the most of your limited time.
It’s not sexy, but it is essential. If you’re playing to win, you need to own your time.
Fortunately, it’s not as tricky or cumbersome as you might think. It just takes a little clarity around what’s important to you and a little bit of practice to make it a habit.
That’s why this month’s TSS webinar is on time budgeting. We want to help you overcome the resistance that many people experience when it comes to tracking time so you can start investing your time intentionally instead of wondering where it went.
Shawn and I will be sharing:
- How to use time blocking and time tracking together to take back control of your calendar.
- How time tracking can help you beat procrastination and make it easier to do your best work.
- How to stay on track for achieving your goals โ no matter how many distractions or interruptions you have to deal with.
