How to combine videos in QuickTime on OS X
With the Mac, there are often times that I think I need to find a simple utility app to do one thing for me. A lot of those times, I find that OS X already has one built-in. One of these rare use cases is when I need to quickly stitch videos together with minimal fuss (no editing, etc). QuickTime X does this with ease.
Simply open the first video in QuickTime, and drag-and-drop additional videos onto the timeline. As you drop them, notice that you can insert them anywhere on the timeline in between other videos. Once you are done, click File → Export to finalize your combined video into a single file.
This is one of those cases where an additional “does one thing well” application isn’t necessary.
