Quick Tip: Customize lock screen notifications in Mailbox for iOS
On the Mac, Mailbox is our favorite third-party email app. If you’re using Mailbox on the Mac, you may want to consider using Mailbox for iOS as well. But even still, Mailbox for iOS is a popular app for quickly powering through your email on iOS devices in its own right.
One of the interesting innovations that they have done for iOS 8 is allowing you to customize lock screen actions. These can be changed by launching Mailbox for iOS and visiting the Settings screen. From there, tap Customize your swipes.
There are two swipe options from the lock screen. The first is Tomorrow and this cannot be modified. The second is set to Archive by default. This can be changed by customizing your short right swipe. You can modify your short right swipe to be Trash if you want to be able to delete email without even launching the app. You are obviously free to do whatever works best for your workflow. After you make a change, Mailbox recommends that you force quit the app in order for the new settings to appear.
