Barefoot College, iPads for India
Outside of my work here at The Sweet Setup, I also co-host a podcast called Out of School that I’ve been doing with Fraser Speirs since 2012.
Fraser has just launched a new fundraiser to purchase and transport a set of iPads to benefit the training mission of Barefoot College. The Barefoot College trains middle-aged women from rural villages worldwide to become solar engineers.
You can learn more about the project over on Fraser’s blog post.
Barefoot College, which was recently visited by Apple VP Lisa Jackson, is an organisation that trains women in rural India to build solar powered projects to help their villages. These projects include solar water heating, cooking, desalination and even data projectors for use in night schools.
I’ve donated, and I hope you will consider doing the same. Click here to make a donation.
